Our Qualifications

The LPL Financial Advisors at Discovery Financial, LLC believe in providing the most up-to-date and accurate information as possible. To do that, we are constantly participating in on-going financial education. Our advisors have also obtained, along with their required federal and state licenses, more advanced designations in the financial services profession.

Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) – Obtained through Fiduciary 360, The Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation allows a financial advisor to provide fiduciary advice to retirement plan trustees and employees.

Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) – The CFP® designation marks identify those individuals who have met the rigorous experience and ethical requirements of the CFP Board; have successfully completed financial planning coursework, and have passed the CFP® Certification Examination covering the following areas:  the financial planning process, risk management, investments, tax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits, and estate planning.  CFP® professionals also agree to meet ongoing continuing education requirements and to uphold CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, Rules of Conduct and Financial Planning Practice Standards.

Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) – Obtained through The American College to professionals who have completed an eight-course curriculum focused on financial planning and have passed a series of written exams. The ChFC® is maintained by adhering to an ethical standard set forth by The American College and by completing 30 hours of continuing education every two years.

Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) – Widely recognized as the highest level of studies in the life insurance profession.  The designation is earned through The American College by completing an eight-course curriculum and by passing a series of written exams.  Emphasis on life insurance needs for individuals, business owners, professionals, including income replacement, estate planning and wealth transfer. The CLU® is maintained by adhering to an ethical standard set forth by The American College and by completing 30 hours of continuing education every two years.

Master of Science in Financial Services (MSFS®) – The MSFS® is an accredited master’s degree awarded by The American College, a non-profit educational institution.  The MSFS® graduate program provides advisors with in-depth education to help them analyze, plan and implement integrated strategies in financial planning.  This academic degree includes ten required graduate courses and two electives in advanced financial planning topics.
